I’ve been experimenting with recipes since elementary school. In fact, when I was only around 10 or 11, I won reserve champion in cooking at the local county fair. When I won, I was too young to go to the state fair with the 4-H group, so my muffins went on to the state fair without me. Perhaps it was that early success that led me to take cooking very seriously, or perhaps, it was just that I loved to eat good food, which I still do. On this site you will find the results of many years of experimentation and recipes that are built around whole foods. I often create recipes that fall into Paleo, Whole 30, or Mediterranean styles of eating, but I personally do not follow any of those eating plans religiously.
As a serious home cook, I’ve tried many online recipes. One of my pet peeves is having to scroll through pages and pages of pictures interspersed with filler text about the author’s day or some other unrelated experience in order to get to the recipe. On this site, you will find recipes at the top of the page with only a short paragraph introduction preceding it. I will also provide notes about additional content below the recipe that you may want to read if you’re a wannabe foodie like me.
